Meet The Educators

Sami Auster

Hi, I'm Sami! I'm 20 years old and have wanted to be an art teacher for as long as I can remember. I believe that each student deserves a positive role model in their life. For me, my teachers were always the role models I looked up to. Without the teachers I’ve had who supported me as a student, I am sure I wouldn’t have ended up being as successful as I am today. I believe art is a way of self expression as well as self healing, which are two very important necessities to live a happy life. Which is why I want to become an art teacher to help students not only gain those important life skills but also to support my students the way my past teachers supported me.

Julia Blue Arm

Hello! My name is Julia Blue Arm. As a fourth-year student at CSU, I study Art Education and minor in German Language. In my pursuit of becoming an art educator, my passions of education and art combine. My favorite medium is clay, but I also love art of all kinds! My mission as a teacher is to foster individuality, self-expression, and life-long learning. Art has played a huge role in helping me work through life challenges and serves as an outlet for my exploration of the world. I hope to foster that type of relationship with art for others!

Laine Stewart

Hi, my name is Laine and art is my passion. I feel like as we get older we start to repress our creativity, we start letting fear get in the way of our self-expression. My goal in this class is to encourage students to take creative risks to expand their artistic abilities and imagination. So far my favorite studio classes at CSU have been figure drawing, printmaking and metalsmithing/jewelry making. I hope that I can bring these talents to inspire students to be their best.
